Troubleshooting Instagram Feed App Issues

The Instagram Feed app by Wix is a great way to connect your site to your Instagram account. Display your posts and Instagram Videos in a customizable gallery on your site.

If you are experiencing problems with your Instagram Feed on Wix this guide will help you identify and resolve common problems with the Instagram Feed app.

I see an error that says "Looks like you've changed your password"

If you see this error in your editor, it means that your Instagram Feed app has disconnected from your Instagram account. The most common reasons for this are:

  • You've changed your Instagram account password

  • Facebook made some internal updates or changes

To fix this issue, you need to disconnect your Instagram Feed app and then reconnect it.

  1. Click the Instagram Feed app in your editor.

  2. Click Settings.

  3. Click Disconnect at the bottom of the Settings panel.

  4. Click Connect Business Account if you have an Instagram Business account, or Connect Personal Account if you have an Instagram personal account.

  5. Follow the instructions in the pop-up to complete the connection process.

I'm having issues switching from my Instagram personal account to my business account

If you previously connected to a personal account and have problems switching to a business account, try disconnecting your account and then connecting your business account.

  1. Click the Instagram Feed app in your editor.

  2. Click Settings.

  3. Click Disconnect.

  4. In a new tab, sign out of your Instagram personal account.

  5. Sign in to your Instagram business account.

  6. Go back to your editor.

  7. Click Connect Profile.

  8. Click Edit Settings in the pop-up.

  9. Click Next.

  10. Select the business page that you want to use.

  11. Click Next.

  12. Click Done.

  13. Click Ok.

I can't connect my Instagram account as a business account

You need to convert your Instagram personal account to a business account and connect it to a Facebook page before you can connect it to the Instagram Feed app. Follow the steps below to check that you have converted your personal account into a business account, and convert it if you haven't.

  1. Open your Instagram app.

  2. Go to your profile.If you see View professional dashboard at the top, you already have a business account.
    If you don't, continue with the steps below.

  3. Tap the options icon .

  4. Tap Settings.

  5. Tap Account.

  6. Tap Switch account type.

  7. Tap Switch to business account.

  8. Tap Switch.

I don't see the correct content in my Instagram feed

If you're not seeing the correct content in your feed, go to your Instagram account and make sure that you're signed in to the correct account.

If you're not signed in to the correct account, follow the steps below.

  1. Sign out of the incorrect account.

  2. Sign in to the correct account.

  3. Go back to your editor.

  4. Select the Instagram Feed app.

  5. Click Settings.

  6. Click Disconnect at the bottom of the panel.

  7. Click Connect your personal account.

  8. Click Allow.

My Instagram account was disconnected from the Instagram Feed app

Your account may get disconnected if there is a connection issue with Instagram, or if you recently changed your Instagram password. Follow the steps below to reconnect your account.

  1. Select the Instagram Feed app in your editor.

  2. Click Settings.

  3. Click Connect Instagram.

Why is my Instagram feed display missing some common features?

We are aware that some features in the Instagram app are missing. This is due to a recent API change on Instagram's end.

The following features will not appear on the app:

  • Header

  • Likes

  • Comments

  • Like Count

  • Comment Count

  • Verified badge/tick

    Sign in to Wix and try to open your editor.
    Go to your Instagram Feed app.
    Connect to your Instagram account.
    Use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl Shift + J (on PC) or Cmd + Option + J (on Mac). Note: If the shortcut doesn't work, you can right-click, and click Inspect.
