Wix Contacts: Creating a Test Contact

Creating a test contact in Wix allows you to simulate interactions on your site without affecting real users. This helps you ensure that your site flows, such as sending invoices or email marketing campaigns, work smoothly. For instance, you might want to see how an invoice appears in an inbox before sending it to someone in your contact list.

Creating a test contact

Create a new test contact from your Contacts dashboard.

To create a test contact:

  1. Go to Contacts in your site's dashboard.

  2. Click the More actions icon  at the top of the page and select Test site flows.

  3. Click Generate Test Contact.

  4. (Optional) Click to choose what you want to do:Copy Email: Copy the test email address so you can paste it wherever you need.
    Generate Test Contact: Create another test contact.

  5. Click Close.

Tip:

You can edit your test contact's details at any time in your contacts list.

What site flows can I test with a test contact?

You can use your test contact to test various site flows. Here are some examples:

Who receives the emails that are triggered during a test?

The person who created the test contact will receive emails that are generated during tests.

How many test contacts can I generate?

5 test contacts can be generated per site, not per user/collaborator on the site.

What happens if I delete or lose access to the email address linked with the test contact?

If you delete or lose access to the email address linked with the test contact, it automatically gets removed from your contacts list.
