Getting Started with Wix Payments
Wix Payments: Troubleshooting Site Access Issues
During the verification process of your Wix Payments account, we need to access your site and verify that it complies with regulatory requirements.
If your site is inaccessible for site scanning by Wix Payments, it can disrupt your payment processing and your ability to accept payouts. This guide can help you troubleshoot and resolve these access issues to keep your business running smoothly.
Click below to learn more about the possible causes for site access issues and how to resolve them.
Your site is not published
For your site to be accessible, it needs to be published. If you have not published your site yet, you can follow the below steps:
Click Publish at the top right of the editor.
(Optional) Click View Site to be taken to your live site.
Go to Accept Payments in your site's dashboard to check your Wix Payments account status.
Your site has been deleted
Deleting your Wix site means Wix Payments cannot scan it for approval. In order to continue the verification process, you need to restore your site again and publish it. Wix Payments will then automatically attempt to scan your site again.
Your domain is expired
When a domain has expired, your site will no longer be accessible and you will need to renew the domain. To check if your domain is expired, you can follow the below steps:
For domains hosted at Wix:
Go to Domains in your Wix account.
Check under Details to see if the domain is expired or when it expires.
(If your domain is expired) Renew your domain or re-activate it.
For domains hosted elsewhere:
You will need to contact your domain host for further assistance. Once your domain is active again, Wix Payments will be able to access your site.
Your new domain is still propagating
Domain propagation is the process of updating name servers around the world following any changes to your DNS records. It can take up to 48 hours to complete. Once your domain has propagated, you need to unpublish and publish your site. Wix payments should then be able to access your site.
Your domain has SSL issues
The Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) is a security measure used by websites and browsers for communicating over the internet. Go ahead and fix the SSL issues.
(Using POS only) You don’t have a site and you don’t plan to have one
This is no problem, Wix Payments can still complete the verification process. However, this will need to be handled via our Customer Care team. Please contact us for further assistance.
